Our Process
All of our steel products are subjected to destructive and non-destructive tests using modern testing equipment. Tests are further verified through various government-accredited testing laboratories such as:
- U.P. Construction Materials and Structures Laboratory
- Philippine Geoanalytics Inc.
- SteelAsia Quality Assurance Laboratory
- Industrial Welding Corporation
- Precision Construction Materials Testing Center
- Metals Industry Research and Development Center
Destructive Test
This is carried out on statistically selected samples to maintain the quality of the materials and finished product. This includes tensile test, impact test, nick break, Brinell hardness test, elongation test, bend and flattening test.
Non-Destructive Test
The pipes are continually checked on the line process of dimensional and physical properties including diameter, roundness, wall thickness, length and straightness. X-ray machines and ultrasonic flow detectors are also used to determine weld quality, and these are conducted by our highly trained technician.
Hydrostatic Pressure Testing
Mayer has 5 units of Hydro Testing Machine ranging from 1/2’’ Ø -147’’ and can accommodate a length of up to 12 meters long.
- Unit # 1 : 12mmØ – 20mmØ
- Unit # 2 : 25mmØ – 50mmØ
- Unit # 3 : 63mmØ – 250mmØ
- Unit # 4 : 125mmØ – 500mmØ
- Unit # 5 : 600mmØ – 3800mmØ
Coating & Lining Test
Zinc coating is inspected by electromagnetic meter testing and destructive stripping test. Lining and coating on pipes are tested and inspected by its bonding, compressive, and penetration. This testing is undertaken by the use of our own modern equipment.
Final Inspection
We welcome a third-party inspector to witness quality control routine procedures. After completion of the various production tests, the pipes undergo a final examination to verify their quality.
