ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) pipes are a type of steel pipe that is made by fusing flat pieces of steel together longitudinally, using an electric current. The process involves heating the edges of the steel to a melting point and then pressing them together under pressure to form a strong, seamless bond.
Material & Product Testing
Destructive Test:
- Properties of raw materials (coils) such as tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation.
- Bending and flattening test for weld strength and quality.
Non-Destructive Test:
- Dimensional inspection on outside diameter, thickness, and length.
- Visual Inspection on straightness and workmanship
- Zinc-coating test using calibrated electromagnetic meter
